Consultant Radiopharmacist 8D
The Consultant Radiopharmacist will be based in the Medical Physics Department. The post holder will be required to work closely with the Nuclear Medicine Service to ensure the smooth running of Radiopharmacy services. The Consultant Radiopharmacist / Radiopharmaceutical Scientist is required to operate, as the professional and scientific head of service with a high degree of autonomy in directing and managing the Radiopharmacy Services and delivery of Radiopharmaceuticals to other UHBs, Trusts and external organisations.
The post holder will be required to;
Be accountable for the delivery of Radiopharmacy Services to the UHB and to customers in across England and Wales.
Be responsible for the delivery of a cost effective service, ensuring end of year financial balance.
Create and lead the 5 year Radiopharmacy strategic development plan in collaboration with commissioners of the service - be responsible for the formulation and development of strategic plans, ensuring services provided are progressive, responsive and efficient.
Provide strategic advice internally and externally, including membership of expert panels at national level such as UKRG, on the development of Radiopharmacy.
Be the Lead within Radiopharmacy with responsibility for Clinical Governance of Radiopharmacy provision.
Be responsible for provision of professional advice and specialist expertise on Radiopharmacy to the UHB, across South East Wales and beyond.
Initiate, co-ordinate, manage and implement specialist Research and Development activities.
Provide education and training in Radiopharmacy at local, regional, national and international level as required.
To act as the South East Wales expert at national level on Radiopharmacy matters and to provide an advisory service to customers in order to assist them in the provision of an appropriate service for their patients.
Provide advice on strategic plans for all Radiopharmacy services across South East Wales in liaison with Directors of Pharmacy services within UHB’s and in liaison with Pharmacy Advisors with Welsh Government.
Provide strategic advice to the Pharmaceutical Adviser (Secondary Care) South East Wales on development of Radiopharmacy.
